Today's Verse

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, ”

Matthew 28:19

Morning Prayer

Heavenly Father, as we stand here on the docks of Galveston, watching the first light spread across the Gulf, we ask Your blessing on our voyage today. You called Your first disciples from their nets and boats, and You call us still. As we head out onto these waters—whether we're running the jetties, working the Bay, or heading to the blue water offshore—help us remember that we're more than fishermen. We're witnesses to Your creation and messengers of Your love. Just as You commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, let our lives on these waters be a testimony. May our words and actions aboard this vessel honor You. Bless our crew, guide our hands, keep us safe, and whether the fish are biting or not, remind us that our true purpose is greater than any catch. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Reflection

mission

Out here on the water, we understand the missionary call better than most. Fishing teaches you to go where the fish are—not where you wish they'd be. Jesus said the same about making disciples: go to all nations. Every trip offshore is an act of faith, trusting what we can't see beneath the surface. We baptize our lines in the Gulf, hoping for provision, but Christ baptizes us in something far greater—a mission that outlasts any season. The crew you fish with becomes family. That's fellowship. And the faith to leave the dock each morning? That's discipleship. We're all called to cast nets wider than we think possible.
